Work Environment

• Procedure Suites: 7 total rooms (4 Cath Lab/EP & 3 IR/Vascular)
• Average Cases per Day: 20+ total across all rooms
• Common Procedures:

  • IR: Port placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, G-tube placements, PICC & Central line placements, Neuro procedures (coiling, thrombectomy, embolizations)
  • Vascular: Femoral-popliteal bypass, AAA repair, carotid procedures, EVAR, angiograms, and more

Job Duties

• Prepare procedure suites and ensure radiation safety setup
• Calibrate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and hemodynamics monitoring equipment
• Pull supplies, set up sterile tables
• Scrub in and assist physicians with procedures including device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon and stent deployment
• Manage radiation dose and imaging angles
• Clean, restock, and turnover rooms
• Sheath removals

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of IR experience required (specific experience may vary depending on assignment)
• No explicit prior travel experience required

Scheduling & Shifts

• 4 ten-hour days per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) plus call; rotating day off
• Option to work 5 eight-hour days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Weeknight and weekend call rotation approximately once every 3 weekdays and once every 3 weekends (Friday through Monday)
• Holiday call may be required
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Floating: Hybrid for vascular cases

Staffing

• Cath Lab: 1 RN, 3 Techs
• EP: 3 to 4 person team
• IR: 1 RN, 2 Techs, anesthesia support for neuro cases
• STEMI Call Team: 4 person (1 RN, 3 Techs)

Orientation & Training

• 2-3 full days of training/shadowing with buddy call
• No call first week; second week on call with a buddy, then solo

Additional Notes

• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Scrubs provided; own scrub caps allowed
• Must disclose if previously worked at this facility (with at least 6 months since last assignment)
