Occupational Therapy Job Opportunity
Location: Bismarck, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Acute care Occupational Therapist role
- Assess clients/patients/residents and design occupational therapy treatments
- Help clients develop, maintain, and recover abilities to perform daily life tasks
- Conduct evaluations and provide interventions for functional, cognitive, or behavioral impairments
- Evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial abilities
- Develop and modify therapy goals and programs as needed
- Document evaluations and treatment plans according to departmental and regulatory guidelines
- Provide education to clients/patients/residents to improve functional outcomes
- Treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses and disorders
- Follow accepted clinical practice guidelines and incorporate current research into treatment
- May supervise assistants, aides, and students
- Interact with providers, case managers, family members, third-party payers, and public organizations
Requirements
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in North Dakota
- Certification through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Appropriate education level as per state licensure
- Pediatric experience required
- Must note if previously worked for the facility with at least a 6-month gap before re-submission
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Work Schedule & Environment
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Occasional weekend shifts every 4-6 weeks
- Acute care setting
- Dress code: Grey scrubs or business casual (Polo shirts in specific colors also acceptable)
- Must badge in and out at the facility
- No local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles accepted
Orientation & Training
- Facility-specific training provided by manager and orientation preceptors (PT and OT colleagues)
Additional Information
- Charting done via electronic medical record system (EPIC)
- Flexibility with variable work schedules and assignments expected
- May float within acute care units at the facility
