Job Opportunity: Pharmacist
Location: Schofield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide inpatient pharmacy services covering multiple areas including ICU, IMC, Emergency Department, Med-Surg, Operating Room (cardiothoracic), cardiac catheterization, EPS, and central pharmacy.
- IV Room experience is not required but understanding of USP 797 standards is necessary.
- Minimal chemotherapy preparation involved (gemcitabine, mitomycin, methotrexate for specific surgeries).
- Responsibilities include inpatient staffing, Vancomycin AUC dosing, Aminoglycosides dosing, Heparin dosing and monitoring, and TPN management/monitoring.
- Oversee or ensure proper preparation of IV medications by pharmacy technicians.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday shifts available:
- 06:00–14:30 (central pharmacy)
- 07:30–16:00 (decentralized/clinical)
- 12:00–20:30 and 13:30–22:00 (PM shifts in pharmacy)
- Weekend and holiday shifts required approximately every 3rd or 4th weekend.
- Weekend/Holiday shifts: 06:00–16:00 and 13:30–22:00.
- No overnight (third) shift or on-call requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid Pharmacist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Inpatient staffing experience
- Vancomycin AUC dosing experience
- Heparin dosing and monitoring experience
- TPN management and monitoring experience
- Understanding of USP 797 standards for sterile compounding
- Experience with tabletop medications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Additional Information
- Medication dispensing system used: Omnicell.
- Dress code: Scrubs preferred; clean and professional or business casual acceptable.
- Orientation: Typical orientation modules plus a 2-3 week pharmacy-specific orientation.
- Clinicians who have previously worked at this facility must have ended employment at least 6 months prior to reapplying.
- Timekeeping: All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
Notes
- Weekend and holiday coverage is required.
- No on-call duties.
- Variable shift lengths include 8-hour day/evening and 10-hour night shifts (night shifts not required for this role).
