Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech (CVOR Tech)

Location: Prescott, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Specialty: CVOR Tech
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Call Requirements:
- On call up to 50% of the time from end of shift to next morning
- On call up to 50% of weekends
- Call response time: 30 minutes
Work Environment:
- 6 Operating Rooms (1 CVOR), 1 Hybrid room
- 20-30 cases per day (1-2 CV or up to 4 TAVR cases)
Common Cases: CABG, Aortic Valve, Mitral Valve, TAVR
Scrubbing: Required for this role
EMR System: Cerner
Support: Charge nurse and specialty leads available as resources; house supervisor on site evenings (6 PM to 7 AM)
Uniform: Hospital provides scrubs

Requirements

Certifications:
- BLS required for techs
- ACLS and BLS required for RNs (not applicable for this tech role)
Experience: Minimum 1 year of open heart experience required
Prior Travel Experience: Not specified / not required

This position is ideal for a Surgical Tech with cardiovascular operating room experience looking for a 13-week contract in a busy OR setting with a variety of cardiac cases.

Traveler friendly, good ratios, great scheduling, decent providers, Uses tiger text to communicate with most doctors. Plenty of hiking activities. Close to Sedona, Flagstaff and Phoenix. 5:1 Med/tele and 3:1 PCU.

Cons

Cost of living is High, roughly $2000-2500 for your own private space. Float between East and West Campus, 25 minutes apart, west will likely be where you spend 75% of your shifts so pick your housing accordingly.
