MRI Technologist

Overview

• Travel support needed in the MRI department in Prescott, Arizona.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Shift: Days, 34 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification.
• 2 years of experience.
• IV experience required.

Department Details

• 1 scanner at each of 4 locations: East and West Campus, plus two outpatient centers located on each campus.
• Works in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Does not float between campuses.
• Outpatient clinic is a separate building on the specified campus.
• Uses Phillips 1.5 scanners.
• Average volume is approximately 10-12 scans per day.
• Radiologist is in-house from 7 am to 10 pm; after-hours service is used.
• Radiation badge is provided by the employer.

Clinical Experience

• Experience screening neuro stimulators and pacemakers.
• Common studies include stealth brains, implants, extremities, abdomens, and MRCP.

Schedule and Coverage

• Set shifts include M-T-W and TH-Fri-Sat, with rotation.
• Potential shifts include Thursday-Saturday 6:30 am-5:30 pm and alternating Sundays 9:00 am-1:00 pm.
• Typically no holidays.
• No call or standby requirement.

Orientation

• 1 week with someone, then shifts with another tech for questions before working more independently.

Dress Code

• Any color of professional scrubs; a specific color will be required starting in October.
