Job Summary

The Physical Therapist implements patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength in an outpatient/rehabilitation clinic setting.

Work Schedule

• 8 hours per day, 5 days a week, or possible 4x10-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries
• Guide and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides in patient care
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare team to ensure quality patient care
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow-up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking safety
• Participate in business marketing and referral processes as needed
• Follow HIPAA policies and procedures to protect patient privacy
• Comply with OSHA, federal, and state regulations
• Be physically mobile during work hours, including sitting, walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds

Physical Demands

• Frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, and lifting
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds and assist patients with mobility restraints and transfers
• Constant alertness for patient safety

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California
• Degree in Physical Therapy
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year

Preferred Qualifications

• Continuing education courses in Physical Therapy

Travel Requirements

• No travel expected

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care

Additional Notes

• Must adhere to patient privacy policies and participate in privacy training
• Responsible for accurate documentation and communication related to patient care and billing processes
