Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Rad/CT Technologist)
Location: Winnebago, Nebraska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Job Overview
- Perform a variety of difficult radiographic examinations including routine and complex exams.
- Position patients, select and set technical factors, and make exposures necessary for requested procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and provide assistance to meet patient needs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot radiology equipment including cassette readers, PACS, and IT systems.
- Perform quality control (QC) for assigned modalities.
- Carry out digital radiology duties such as loading readers, pushing images to PACS, and electronic editing/annotating images.
- Maintain records of patient workload, examinations, equipment, and radiation surveys.
- Plan and coordinate radiology department operations and requisition supplies as needed.
- Represent the department in staff meetings and recommend adoption of new developments.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with 2 years of applicable experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be ARRT registered Technologist.
- CT and Mammography board certification required.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiographic exposure techniques, and radiation protection standards.
- Ability to perform nonstandard examinations and make sound, well-informed decisions.
- Ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
- Use hands to operate computer keyboard and office equipment.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Reading, writing, and calculating skills required.
- Above average social interaction skills.
Certifications & Compliance
- Maintain accreditation through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) by completing mandatory continuing education units (24 CEUs per biennium).
- Maintain certifications as Radiographer, Mammographer, and CT Technologist throughout employment.
- Must comply with background checks, drug screening, health assessments, immunizations, and TB testing as conditions of employment.
