Diagnostic Imaging Technologist (MRI Tech I) - Contract Opportunity
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
The MRI Technologist I provides healthcare services by performing MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images. Operates magnetic resonance scanners to obtain images used in diagnosis and treatment. Adjusts technical settings to enhance image quality and minimize exposure.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a CAHEA-accredited Radiology program or equivalent
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certified MRI Technician certification
- Previous MRI experience (minimum 2 years required)
Essential Job Functions
- Perform MRI exams and procedures as requested by medical staff
- Assist Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures
- Maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures
- Complete documentation for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams
- Retrieve prior images, studies, orders, and related health information to ensure timely performance and reporting
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on MRI scanner and archive imaging data
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives as outlined in the hospital’s strategic plan

- Tact, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality
- Proficiency with computer applications including MS Office, EMR, and internet applications
- Self-directed with ability to complete assignments accurately and thoroughly
Schedule Requirements
- Regular and sustained attendance required
- May require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts
- On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs
Additional Information
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
- Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
- Prior travel experience is required for this position
