Nursing Contract Position - Bethel, Alaska

Position Summary

• Provide quality nursing care to all patients.
• Serve as a member of the nursing staff, utilizing scope of practice.
• Deliver care respecting patient rights and dignity.
• Duties may vary depending on assigned area within a Long Term Care facility.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) program.
• Experience: New graduates accepted; 1 year preferred in hospital or long-term care setting.
• Licensing/Certification:

  • Must hold a current LPN license in good standing in Alaska.
  • Current CPR certification (BCLS/BLS) required.
  • IV certification course required.
• Must pass and maintain competencies for the position.

Skills and Knowledge

• Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret professional and technical materials.
  • Effective communication with physicians, medical staff, and diverse populations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic arithmetic and ability to interpret data and graphs.
• Reasoning Ability:

  • Solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Interpret instructions in various formats.

Equipment Used

• Office machines (multi-line telephone, computer, fax).
• Medical equipment such as Dynamapp, thermometers, Datascope, Pulse Oximetry.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Additional Requirements

• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations required for all travelers.
