Nursing Contract Position - Bethel, Alaska

Position Summary

• Provide quality nursing care to all patients.
• Serve as a member of the nursing staff, utilizing scope of practice.
• Deliver care respecting patient rights and dignity.
• Duties may vary depending on assigned area within a Long Term Care facility.

Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in Alaska.
• Graduation from a Licensed Nursing (LNL) school for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN).
• Long Term Care experience within the last year; 0 years of experience accepted.
• Skilled Nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• IV certification.

Skills and Knowledge

• Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret professional and technical materials.
  • Effective communication with physicians, medical staff, and diverse populations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic arithmetic and ability to interpret data and graphs.
• Reasoning Ability:

  • Solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Interpret instructions in various formats.

Equipment Used

• Office machines (multi-line telephone, computer, fax).
• Medical equipment such as Dynamapp, thermometers, Datascope, Pulse Oximetry.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Additional Requirements

• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations required for all travelers.
