Registered Nurse (CVICU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Reston, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Hours: 36 hours per week
Schedule: Includes 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Number of Beds: 4
Patient Ratios:

1:1 for immediate post-surgical patients
1:2 for post-operative days 1-3

Unit and Work Environment

Primary nursing model with unit secretaries and tech availability
Floating policy: Nurse will float with the same patient ratio as the unit floated to
Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
New cardiac surgery program recently launched
Procedures and advanced equipment include balloon pump, Impella, Hemosphere or Acumen technology

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

Dress code: Navy blue uniform required
Patient experience and unit-specific policies apply
Opportunity to work with new technology and a specialized cardiac surgery program
