The physicians, staff and volunteers of the DeTar Healthcare System pride themselves on caring for our community. The father and son physician team of William and Webb T. DeTar opened the area’s first hospital, Valley View Hospital, in a two-story, white wood framed, colonial style home on the corner of Navarro and San Antonio streets in 1924. Since then, the DeTar “family,” as we call it, has grown to a team of 1,200 staff members, 179 physicians and more than 60 volunteers who dedicate themselves to keeping our community healthy.

A cardiac program with two cardiac catheterization labs, an electrophysiology program and open-heart surgery

A designated Primary Stroke Center

- Night Shift: 
 - Weekdays: 9 PM - 7 AM 
 - Weekends: 7 PM - 7 AM 
- 7 on, 7 off schedule
- No call required
- Floating between departments is necessary
- No block scheduling or 48-hour shifts

**Requirements:**

- ASCP or equivalent certification required
- Advanced knowledge in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required; 5 years preferred
- Scrubs must be any color except teal
- Familiarity with EMR systems; Medhost transitioning to Cerner Blood Bank
