Role summary

• Provides nursing care for high-acuity ICU patients, including patients who are intubated, sedated, and requiring chest tube management and continuous critical care monitoring.

Required qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• CVICU experience within the last year
• 1 year of CVICU experience
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol
• Monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
