Hospice RN

Overview

• Travel RN role in Hospice case management
• Location: Brunswick, Maine
• Shift: 0800-1700
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 40
• Work schedule is mostly Monday through Friday with rotating weekend coverage every third weekend
• On-call rotation is included, with weekday and weekend on-call shifts
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Hospice Palliative Care RN experience within the last year
• 1 year of Hospice Palliative Care RN experience
• Home Health experience
• BLS
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• PICC lines/dressing changes
• Trachs
• Port access
• Ostomies
• Chest tubes
• Pleurex drains
• S/p catheters
• Lab draws/UA/C&S

Unit / Patient Population

• Department: CHANS Hospice
• Patient population includes adult med surg, oncology, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, wound care, GI, and GU patients
• Case management load is 14-18 patients based on acuity
• Expected productivity is 25 visits per week
• Routine visits, recertification visits, and admission visits are part of the role

• Float requirements: None
• Uses in-home infusion pumps
• No ventilators
• No invasive monitoring
• Equipment provided includes a laptop, iPhone, chargers, mouse, nursing supply bin, nursing bag with vital signs equipment, and an agency bag
• Dress code: business casual or scrubs in any color
• Unacceptable attire: jeans, open-toed shoes, or clothing with holes
