Unit Overview
- 5 ORs and 1 Cysto room, typically running 4-5 ORs per day
- Staffing: one daily boardrunner, plus one circulator, one scrub, and one FA per room. Total joint procedures require an additional scrub or FA.
- Procedures performed: general, bariatric, vascular, urology, gynecology, neuro, ortho, spine, ENT, podiatry, and robotic. Primarily ortho and spine.
Schedule and Floating
- Full-time hours, 1-2 late shifts per week, rotating weekend call
- Typically does not float. In low-volume periods, opportunities may be available in other surgical services departments (within scope).
Requirements
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Operating Room (OR) experience: 2 years, with experience within the last year
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ortho and spine, the primary service lines
