Medical Technologist

Overview

Travel assignment in Salt Lake City, Utah
Start: ASAP
Specialty: Medical Technologist / Medical Lab Scientist
Schedule: 7 on / 7 off nights, 9:00 PM–7:30 AM
Hours per week: 48
Assignment length: 13 weeks
Optional extension: 26 weeks
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
On-call: None

Required Qualifications

MLS(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP)
2 years of Medical Technologist experience
Medical Technologist experience within the last year
Experience in a hospital setting
Medical Lab Technician experience

Preferred Experience

Experience with EPIC
Experience with the analyzers used on the unit

Work Setting

Emergency department lab support for a freestanding emergency department
Works independently much of the time and interfaces with ED clinical staff
May perform clerical duties in support of operations

Core Responsibilities

Daily maintenance, quality control, and calibrations on analyzers
Patient testing, including waived and nonwaived tests
Specimen processing, including test ordering, centrifuging specimens, preparing send-outs, stocking lab supplies, and routine cleaning of lab surfaces

Compliance

Must follow standard lab safety protocols required by CLIA and CAP
