Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Med Surg (1 year of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Understanding of post-operative care

Unit Details

Surgical Specialty Unit
20 private beds
High-paced unit
Patient ratio: 4:1 total patient care, or 5:1 with a patient care tech

Scheduling

Every 3rd weekend
Two Mondays and two Fridays per 4-week scheduling period

Clinical Experience Needed

Post-operative care
Ostomy management and irrigation
NGT placement and management
Foley catheter placement and maintenance
Central line management
JP drains
Wound management
IV starts
Blood administration
Nutritional supplementation, including TPN and G/J tubes

Floating

May float to medical/surgical/telemetry units, including ortho neuro center, med/tele, 4N, and CDU

Additional Notes

Required uniform: royal blue tops with black or royal blue bottoms
