Role Summary

Travel RRT position in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The role floats between Lake Charles and St Patrick facility and works nights.

Schedule

• Nights: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Every other weekend and holidays
• No call
• Full time, 36 hours per week

Floating

• Floats between Lake Charles and St Patrick facility
• Shift at St. Patrick facility: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
• Shift at Lake Charles facility: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• 1 year of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience working with Adult patients
• Adult ICU experience

Preferred Experience

• 1–3 years of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Emergency response for Code Blue and Code White
• Airway management, including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
• Aerosolized drug delivery
• Ventilator management
• Oral hygiene
• Airway retaining device placement and maintenance
• Airway support device management, including BiPAP and CPAP
• Oxygen delivery and therapeutic monitoring
• Chest film analysis
• Blood gas collection and analysis
• EKG analysis
• Documentation
• Cleaning and stocking equipment and supplies
• CAP and JC survey participation
• May function as Shift Leader or Team Leader
• Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management and monitoring, INO and HeO2, Pulmonary Function Testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation, polysomnography, and transport duties

• Nurse/patient ratio: 5:1 (5 vents to one therapist)
• Dress code: Gray scrubs
