Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel

Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Unit and Patient Care Information
- Unit: Orthopedics, Neuro (Ortho Neuro 3C)
- Number of Beds: 27
- Patient Ratios (estimated):
- Days: 1:5 to 1:6
- Nights: 1:6 to 1:8
- Patient Population: Orthopedic patients, post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, telemetry monitors, lift equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
- Float: Rotational basis within the unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Telemetry nursing experience of at least 1 year within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Skills and Experience
- Competence in drug titration essential
- Experience with inpatient telemetry patients required
- Preferred experience in orthopedic inpatient care
- Must be determined, decisive, and flexible
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high risk
- Must be able to work varying schedules and shifts as required by patient care needs
Additional Requirements and Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1; declinations not accepted
- No call requirements
- Weekend hours as required by the facility
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
- Dress code: Black scrubs; no torn clothes, open-toed shoes, or non-scrub attire allowed
- Must maintain patient confidentiality and professional accountability
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Follow nursing practice guidelines and state nurse practice act
