  • Block schedule not accommodated
  • Requests for contingency and flexible guaranteed hours must be indicated on submission
  • Return to Office (RTO) time off must be made up later; no RTO approval in first week
  • Only one holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year Emergency Department experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Certifications:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and Regional Burn Center
• Number of Beds: 68
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; may vary during surge or other circumstances
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
• Maintain professional accountability and uphold patient rights and confidentiality
• Follow nursing practice guidelines consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
• Utilize nursing process to deliver care and evaluate effectiveness of care provided by others

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy urban trauma center environment

Physical and Working Conditions

• Stand and walk most of the shift
• Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
• Work primarily in a clean, air-conditioned environment
• Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling

Additional Requirements

• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Dress code: Black scrubs required; unprofessional attire such as jeans is not allowed
