Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Unit: Endoscopy
Number of Beds: 2
Staff: 9 (RNs and GI Techs)
Day Shift Staffing: 2 RNs and Unit Manager
Night Shift Staffing: Call only (2 RNs or 1 RN and 1 GI Tech)
Patient Ratios: Typically 1:1 or 1:2 (not guaranteed)
Equipment: Olympus Scopes
EMR System: Meditech / CPN
Average Caseload: About 10 cases per week, primarily emergencies and OR support
Work Environment: Small, close-knit GI department with experienced staff and good relationships with GI doctors

Typical Procedures

EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy)
Colonoscopy
ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound)
Bronchoscopy

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Colorado
Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy experience within the last year
Acute Care experience
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Current ACLS certification
Current BLS certification
De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
