Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST/ORT) - Travel Position

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Shift: Days, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Start Date: March 9, 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

An integral member of the surgical team who supports surgeons during operations by preparing, providing, and caring for instruments and equipment while maintaining a sterile field.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduation from a school of Surgical Technology preferred.

• Certifications/Licenses:

  • BLS certification from AHA required.
  • Surgical Tech certification required.

• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting in the operating room or instrument care environment preferred.

• Skills:

  • Knowledge of care and handling of instruments and equipment.
  • Knowledge of sterilization and cleansing procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.

Additional Requirements

• Weekend work required
• On-call requirement

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens; adherence to Universal Precautions and use of protective equipment required.
• Heavy physical effort involving standing, walking, or lifting most of the day.
• Ability to speak, hear, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
