Travel LPN/LVN – Neurology

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

Provide patient care under the supervision of an RN or licensed prescriber in a neurology unit. Maintain professional accountability, coordinate patient care with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality.

• EMR System: EPIC
• Equipment: FIT test required on site

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year inpatient acute care experience including Med Surg and Neurology (clinic, SNF, or MD office experience not sufficient)
• Certifications:

  • BLS
  • Missouri Approved IV Certification (required)
• Skills:

  • Inpatient experience required
  • Ability to perform patient assessments, handoffs, rounding, and documentation
  • Collaborate with RN to evaluate patient response and prioritize care
  • Delegate and guide UAPs within scope of practice
• Personality Fit: Dedicated to positive patient outcomes and a team player

Job Responsibilities

• Assist RN with admission and discharge processes
• Perform patient assessments and communicate changes promptly
• Use patient safety tools for handoffs (e.g., SBAR)
• Document nursing interventions and patient education
• Participate in unit huddles, process improvement, and hospital committees
• Maintain required competencies and certifications
• Follow scope of practice and delegation policies

Additional Information

• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (exemptions require approval)
• Dress code: Black scrubs
• Float as needed within scope
