- Unit Type: 6 Front Telemetry, Medical Surgical, Trauma
- Number of Beds: 33
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, Unit Secretary, 7-8 RNs, 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT)
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, Unit Secretary, 7-8 RNs, 2 PCTs
- Patient Ratios: 5 to 6 patients per nurse
- Typical Procedures:
- Small Incision & Drainage (I&D)
- Peritoneal Dialysis
- Thoracentesis (infrequent)
- Equipment Used: EKG, Code cart, Welch Allyn vital machines, Vascular Doppler, wound vacs, Cultura Link interpreting services, Carescape monitors for rhythm monitoring (used during push meds like metoprolol)
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Candidate Requirements
- Must Have:
- BLS & ACLS certifications
- Ability to pass Basic Rhythm test
- Preferred:
- Experience in Medical Surgical nursing
- Strong patient focus
