Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Unit Overview
- Unit: Birthing Center
- Beds: 12 LDRP, 2 C-section Suites, 3 Triage beds
- Patient Ratios:
- 1:1 during active labor/induction or cesarean section
- 3:1 postpartum
- 2:1 antepartum unless unstable
- Staffing: OB Surgical Tech staff also function as unit secretaries
- Equipment: GE Fetal Monitors, Novii II
- Documentation System: CPN – Centricity Perinatal/Meditech
- Scheduling: 0545-1815 / 1745-0615 shifts
- On Call: None
- Floating Policy: None
- Patient Experience: Focus on understanding and supporting individual families' birth goals
- Additional Unit Info:
- Unit remodel completed in 2024
- Level II NICU available
- 24-hour in-house anesthesia and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner support
- Patient Experience Rating in top 10% within HCA for 8 quarters
- Employee Engagement: 81%
- Physician Engagement: 85%
Required Qualifications
- License: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or C-EFM
- Experience: Minimum 2 years labor experience required; postpartum experience preferred

- D & C (Dilation and Curettage)
- Jada placement
Dress Code
- Charcoal Grey Scrubs or hospital-laundered unit grey scrubs
