Experience & Certifications

Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2+ years in Oncology (1 year on MedSurg Oncology unit preferred)
Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (no explicit requirement)
Required Certifications:
- Wisconsin RN License
- BLS
- Chemotherapy certification required

Skills & Equipment

Charting: Epic EMR preferred; if no Epic experience, must have prior electronic charting experience
Equipment Used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps
Unit Specifics:
- MedSurg Oncology unit
- Patient population includes surgical and medical oncology patients, with a small number receiving chemotherapy treatments
- Patient ratio:
  - Days/PMs: 4:1 or 5:1
  - Nights: Typically 5:1, can go up to 7:1 (with tech support)
- C.NAs scheduled all shifts; additional RNs staffed if C.NAs unavailable

Additional Information

Radius Rule: Contractors must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Low Census Hours: Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; may be put on call during these hours with call back pay if called in
Orientation Week: GSA hours not guaranteed; guaranteed set hours except during holidays when unit is closed
Health Policy: During flu season, travelers declining flu and COVID vaccinations must wear masks at all times per facility policy; non-compliance may result in corrective action
Scrub Color: Any color allowed

Radiology manager plays favorites with the techs and the lead is hardly in department so she has no clue what is going on with staff.
