Travel Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (open to 8 or 17 weeks)
Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (not guaranteed during orientation)
Float Requirements: Yes, float to all acute care, cardiology, or Emergency Center for acute care patient holds; mid-shift floats are rare and only for emergent needs
Weekend Requirements: Rotate every other weekend
Holiday Requirements: Must work 2 out of 3 holidays
On Call/Call Back: Rare
Break: 30 minutes

Job Details

Float Pool RN for Medical-Surgical unit
Patient Ratios: 1:6 (days and nights)
Nurse Aides: CNAs ratio generally 1:8 to 1:10
Uniform: Caribbean blue or white

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Georgia
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIHSS certification
Experience with Trach care and management
Experience with MEDITECH EMR system

Additional Notes

Radius rule: 75 miles
Start date: March 2, 2026 (no return to office until after May 3, 2026)
Orientation week is day shift
Float may include work at North Campus (1.8 miles away)
