Job Opportunity: Tech Assistant II

Location: Salinas, California

Job Description

• Operate PACS system to transmit and print/burn CDs of patient imaging studies
• Transport and assist patients, including lifting and moving patients as needed
• Perform routine clerical duties such as preparing charts for interventional procedures
• Obtain and enter patient demographics, financial data, and insurance information into computer systems
• Schedule exams for multiple modalities including PET/CT, CT, MRI, NM, US, Angio, X-ray, and Mammography
• Work with Radiologists, Nurses, and MD offices to schedule interventional cases and obtain authorizations
• Provide necessary billing codes and assess medical necessity for Medicare patients
• Register, interview, and screen patients using ITS and Meditech systems
• Coordinate sedation scheduling with surgery and notify relevant staff
• Prepare paperwork, consents, questionnaires, and identification bands for patients
• Assist physicians with viewing images on PACS system
• Maintain professional and friendly phone communication
• Perform miscellaneous duties such as filing x-ray jackets and recording legal documentation for Radiology Department
• Assist technologists with patient flow and scan in signed MD orders
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population served
