Job Summary

Perform basic and routine diagnostic laboratory procedures within certified labs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic procedures for isolation and identification of microbial pathogens from clinical specimens.
• Prepare specimens and operate automated analyzers; may perform manual tests following detailed instructions.
• Maintain knowledge of laboratory techniques, principles, instrumentation, and physiological conditions affecting test results.
• Stay familiar with various testing procedures conducted in the laboratory.
• Assist in special projects, evaluate new products and instrumentation, and perform quality control procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No prior experience required, but some lab exposure is preferred.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technician certification preferred.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of lab experience and education.
