Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department and industry standards. This role requires thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and image quality. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, educating and responding to patient questions or concerns, and ensuring age-appropriate communication and safety. The technologist must demonstrate expertise in patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, infection control, and quality control. Additionally, this position involves overseeing and training students providing patient care and services.


Responsibilities

  • Produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images using imaging and computer equipment.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide education and support.
  • Apply radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Ensure age-appropriate communication and safety measures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, infection control, and quality control.
  • Oversee and train students in patient care and imaging procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in Kentucky
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT® certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
