Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Location: Marshalltown, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
• Patient types include Telemetry, Post-Op Surgical, Orthopedic, and General Surgery
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1
• Responsible for reading and measuring telemetry
• Experience with drips including Insulin, Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone required
• Use of EPIC electronic medical records system preferred
• Orientation provided

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current Nursing experience in Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry in a hospital or medical center setting
• Experience with orthopedic/general surgery care required
• Experience with telemetry required (preferred but telemetry reading/measuring is mandatory)
• Experience with drips: Insulin, Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone required
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• Valid driver’s license
• Work history/resume must reflect 24 months of current operating room experience
• Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical/Telemetry discipline required
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travel nurses accepted with minimum 24 months of current nursing experience
• Telemetry experience is essential as the role involves telemetry monitoring and measurements
• Orientation date available upon hire

Note: Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
