Job Opportunity: EEG Technician (Temp)

Job Description

• Perform EEGs and assist Neurologists and Neuro Technologists with EMGs, clinic visits, and other clinical duties.
• Assist Neuro Tech with Nerve Conduction Velocities (NCVs) and other clinical tasks.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of neurology and electroencephalography.
• Explain EEG testing procedures to patients and families.
• Maintain and adjust equipment to ensure accurate results.
• Obtain accurate patient histories and prepare patients and equipment for examinations.
• Produce accurate and complete EEG reports emphasizing clinical observations.
• Recognize, monitor, and eliminate artifacts; perform routine activation procedures such as hyperventilation.
• Respond appropriately to patient emergencies and take infection prevention precautions.
• Understand medication effects on EEGs.
• Verify physician orders and patient identification.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of EEG and/or EMG experience (highest required years of experience).
• EMG/Neuro experience required.
• Active ABRET Certification.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Work history and skills checklist pertinent to EEG or EMG, current within 1 year.
• Two supervisory reference forms with employment dates.

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates are not eligible).
• Applicants who were direct employees within the last 2 years are not eligible.
• EMR system used: Cerner.
• Dress code: Royal Blue Scrubs.
• Nonbillable hours: 16 hours.
• Overtime and holiday pay at 1.25x regular rate.
• Call back pay at 1.3x regular rate.
• On-call rate available.
