Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides holistic nursing care across the lifespan, including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults. Responsibilities include assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN develops and revises patient care plans, coordinates care among disciplines, delegates activities appropriately, and participates in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices. Duties may vary based on the assigned unit, with specific clinical skills required for the Med Surg/Telemetry unit.

Required Qualifications

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Minimum 1+ year of travel nursing experience required
• Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Minnesota
• Certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC) certification required
• Skills:

  • Ability to insert IVs
  • Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Additional Requirements:

  • Work history documentation
  • Skills checklist current within 1 year, pertinent to specialty
  • Two supervisory references with dates of employment
  • MN DHS Net Study & Fingerprinting required for all patient-facing roles
  • Compliance with strict onboarding deadlines

Additional Information

• Rotating shifts on Med Surg/Telemetry unit
• Dress code: Dark blue scrubs
• Nonbillable hours: 4 hours per week
• Local travel policy applies for candidates living within 35 miles of the facility
• Prior work history with the health system must be listed on the resume

Summary

This is a 13-week temporary contract for an experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of specialty experience and 1 year of prior travel nursing experience. The role requires strong clinical skills, EPIC EMR proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic hospital environment.
