Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse

Job Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Seattle, Washington
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• IV Certification
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Open heart surgery experience
• Vascular surgery experience
• Groin and radial band management experience
• Experience with Epic

Work Expectations

• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Floating to like units is required
• Every other weekend is required

Clinical Setting

• Surgical cardiac telemetry unit
• Common patient populations include myocardial infarction, rule-out MI, arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke with cardiac involvement
• May care for patients needing specialized structural heart support, including VAD and TAVR
• Typical responsibilities include telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, blood product administration, breathing treatments, chest tube care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, and LVAD care

Additional Notes

• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4, with up to 1:5 at midnight
• Candidates from other Providence facilities outside Swedish may be eligible if separated for at least 3 months
