MICU Travel/Contract RN Job

• Dayton, Ohio

Schedule

• Day shift
• 4x12 hours
• 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 or 48 hour contract
• Every other weekend and holiday availability required

Unit Overview

• 40-bed, fast-paced, high-acuity ICU
• Target patient ratio: 1:2–3
• Bedside procedures include endoscopy, bronchoscopy, trach, and G-tube placement
• Frequently recovers patients immediately post-op
• Special equipment includes ICP monitoring, arterial lines, Flotrac monitoring, BIS, and train-of-four

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (1.5 years of experience)
• MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in a hospital setting
• Experience with Epic

Preferred

• Travel experience

Floating

• First to float at facility discretion
• May float within specialty clusters or to medically appropriate assignments
• May be assigned to support nursing care on other units
• If assigned to the main hospital, may also float to nearby campuses

Additional Notes

• License does not need to be in hand to apply, but it must be obtained before the contract begins
• Navy blue scrubs
• RTO must be requested with the initial submission; no RTO added after offer
• RTO approval is at manager discretion
• The facility may cancel 2 shifts due to low census during the 13-week contract
• The agreement may be canceled with 2 weeks’ notice without fee or fine
• Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives
