Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Roanoke, Virginia
• 12-bed inpatient unit caring for adults with complex medical conditions, co-occurring behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders
• Patient ratio: 1:6

Schedule

• Night shift: 3x12s, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• 4x12 schedule available by request
• Up to 26 weeks available by request
• Weekend coverage may be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
• One holiday required per 13-week contract
• May be called off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• CPI
• Med Surg (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• Experience with Epic

Work Expectations

• Float within skillset
• May be required to work charge
• May be required to precept

Candidate Preferences / Eligibility

• First-time travelers not accepted
• Locals accepted
• Pending license accepted only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state

Compliance / Onboarding

• Driver’s license or state ID required within 48 hours of signing
• E-Verify or attestation required
• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start
• Education verification of highest earned degree required
• NURSYS verification required for all RNs
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• TB questionnaire required
• Drug screen within 30 days of start
• 2 clinical references required
• Resume/application required
• Skills checklist required
• Photo for badge required

• Unit emphasizes patient safety, recovery-oriented treatment, medication management, behavioral support, and discharge planning
