Unit Details

• Mixed acuity medical-surgical/telemetry and stepdown unit
• 48-bed unit caring for neurology and neurosurgery patients
• Travelers are first to float and should be prepared to float frequently
• RNs may care for up to six med-surg patients
• Stepdown ratios are 1:3–4 on days and nights
• Medical-surgical/telemetry ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights; night ratio may rarely be 1:7

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license
• 2 years of prior experience
• 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital
• EPIC charting experience
• Must be prepared to float within scope
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless the traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Certifications must be AHA

Schedule Expectations

• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period
• Holiday requirement: work 2 of 3 major holidays

Additional Notes

• Pending license accepted; if not in hand at submission, start will be booked six weeks out
• Locals are not accepted; candidate must live more than 100 miles from the facility
• Scrubs are mandatory and must be Steele gray with the specified logo
• Facility is 100% nicotine free
