Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Jasper, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Unit Details

• Patient diagnoses include Labor and Delivery, Laboring women, Mother/Baby, GYN surgery, and Breast Surgery
• Weekend schedule: Every other weekend
• No call required
• Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
• First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license valid in Georgia
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
• Other certifications such as PALS may be preferred depending on unit specifics
• Annual NURSYS verification required within 30 days prior to start

Compliance and Screening

• Full compliance with all documentation and credentialing required to start on time
• Clinical screening to determine fit before final approval
• Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
• Physical exam required within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
• Drug screening (10-panel) required within 60 days of start
• Immunizations required or proof of immunity:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or declination)
  • Tdap (highly recommended)
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season

Additional Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
• Color blind testing required
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (may apply)
• Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
• Work history verification and 2 clinical references required

Work Expectations

• Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
• If major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work them (up to 2 holidays)
• Locals accepted at same rate
• Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with Labor and Delivery experience seeking a travel contract in Georgia. Prior travel experience is not required.
