Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Dayshift with a fair share of call and holidays.
• Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather required.
• Position is very active: requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
• Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
• Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Prior travel experience: Not required.

Work Requirements

• Ability to work full term at assigned location.
• Ability to work the substantial time of assigned shifts.
• Ability to take call.
• Ability to work assigned weekends.
• Ability to work at least 50% of holidays during the contract.

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC Provider card required for all RNs.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in critical care areas including OR, Cath Lab, CCU, CVICU, Endo/GI, ER, GI Lab, ICU, Interventional Radiology, L&D, MICU, Neuro ICU, PACU, SICU, and Tele.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for all ER RNs starting 11/5/2024.
• Other certifications: Check specialty-specific requirements if applicable.

Physical & Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (agency form acceptable).
• Fit mask test required annually (specific mask types accepted).
• Immunizations and testing required within 48 hours of signing:

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (updated annually).
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption.
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines required.
  • Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required (declinations not accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023).
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required.
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31).
• Negative 7-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.

Background & Verification

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start.
• Additional state and federal exclusion screenings required within 60 days.
• International background check required if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years.
• Missouri-specific background checks and caregiver registry searches required and must be current within 60 days.
• Primary source verification of state nursing license within 60 days.
• NURSYS verification required within 60 days.

Documentation & Compliance

• Photo for badge required for new candidates.
• Completion of facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreements, new hire packets, and TB surveys within 60 days.
• References: 2 professional references within last 2 years required (for non-clinical roles).
• Resume must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days.
