Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Hannibal, Missouri
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM with weekend rotation
Start Date: ASAP

Job Description

• Provide care for both CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) and general ICU patients.
• Must be competent to work in general ICU when there are no cardiovascular patients (low volume CV program).

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in ICU or relevant specialty.
• No prior travel experience explicitly required.

Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA certified, required for ICU.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certified.
• Other certifications preferred but not required: PALS, TNCC, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification (updated annually).

Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse license with primary source verification.
• NURSYS verification required.

Competencies

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within the last 12 months.
• Unit competency exam within the last 12 months.
• Annual core testing (Parts I, II, III).

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, including social security trace, county searches, nationwide search, sex offender registry, education verification, and state-specific elder/child abuse searches as applicable.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and OIG checks within 90 days of start.
• Education verification required.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required).
• Drug screening (7-panel) within 45 days of start.
• Immunizations:

  • Tdap within 10 years (declination or exemption accepted).
  • MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters or declination if low/equivocal.
  • Hepatitis B – titer, series, or declination.
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters or declination if low/equivocal.
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 – 3/31).

Facility & Orientation Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules.
• HIPAA statement acknowledgment.
• Confidentiality statement signed prior to start.
• Photo for badge required before start date.
• Various facility-specific exemption and declination forms for COVID-19 and vaccinations may be required.

• Must comply with a 60-mile radius rule (no local hires).
• References from at least 2 recent prior employers required.
• Employment application and skills checklist required.

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs comfortable working night shifts in a cardiovascular and general ICU setting on a travel contract basis.
