Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience
• License: Pennsylvania or Compact RN License required
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs, must be renewed annually)
• Shift: Every Other Week (EOW) schedule
• Shift Details: Night shifts are grouped within the same week (if scheduled nights, work all three days that week at night)
• Travel Experience: First-time travelers are accepted (no prior travel experience required)
• Geographic Restriction: No local candidates within a 50-mile radius

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal history within 1 year of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM
  • HHS/OIG
  • Education verification (transcripts/diplomas)
• Pennsylvania FBI Fingerprinting within 12 months of start
• Professional references: 2 required within 3 years of hire
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months of start or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Immunizations or declinations required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within past 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu (vaccine or declination during flu season Nov-April)
  • COVID-19 (vaccine or declination)
• Photo for badge (passport style, no filters)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation and acknowledgment packets
• Competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology)
• Annual skills checklist required

Additional Certifications (as applicable)

• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for Emergency Department, Behavioral Health, and Acute Care Units (annual certification required)
• Comprehensive Crisis Management certification accepted as MAB/CPI equivalent (annual certification required)

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience. The position requires a PA or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification. Night shifts are scheduled in blocks during the week. First-time travelers are welcome, but local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible. Extensive background checks, immunizations, and compliance documentation are required prior to start.
