Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT)

Location: Augusta, Georgia

Contract Length: 12 weeks

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
• 1st time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or minimum CRTT (Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician) with critical care skills and 5+ years experience as a therapist

• ABG Interpretation
• CPAP / Nasal CPAP / BiPAP
• Flow-by
• Troubleshooting high pressure alarms
• Weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Trach collar management
• High flow nasal cannula
• Airway management

Work Environment & Schedule

• Electronic Health Record System: Epic (required)
• Medication dispensing system: Pyxis
• Scrub color: Pewter gray
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, within facility and possibly to nearby campus (within 3 miles)
• Call: None
• Holidays: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Required Documentation & Health Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (photo ID required)
• Background Check (within 30 days of start, must be complete prior to start)
• Education Verification (degree related to specialty; can be pending with proof)
• State License (Georgia) for CRTs & RRTs
• Annual NURSYS verification (if applicable)
• Physical Exam (within 12 months)
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months) and TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
• Immunizations:

  • Measles (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Mumps (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (results required before start)
• Flu Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season)

Competency Exams & Additional Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by agency)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for certain units; check specialty requirements)
• Skills Checklist (updated within 12 months)
• Work History Verification (most recent employer verification required; can be pending with proof)
• References: 2 clinical references required by agency

Additional Notes

• Floating may include coverage at an additional nearby campus
• No call requirements
• Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start

This position is ideal for respiratory therapists with at least 2 years of experience, who are comfortable working with a diverse patient population including neonates and geriatrics, and who hold the required certifications and skills in respiratory care and airway management.
