Registered Nurse (RN) Travel/Contract Position
Location: Leonardtown, Maryland

Job Details
- Unit: Intermediate Care (IMC) / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend coverage required; weekend assignments based on operational needs
- Float within skillset required
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience strongly preferred
- Patient ratio experience of 4-6 patients per nurse required
- First-time travelers accepted
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
- Other certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher) within 3 years
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements (updated annually)
- Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
- General competency exam (score 80% or higher) within 3 years
Background & Compliance
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
- Education verification of highest degree required by position
- Drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually (excludes marijuana)
- Physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer or series or signed declination
- Varicella documentation or titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask use
Licensing & Documentation
- Valid state nursing license required prior to start
- I-9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
- Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual
References & Work History
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
