Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: Days, Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks from offer
Unit: MedSurg - Orthopedics/Neuro/Pediatrics floor
Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of MedSurg experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Intermediate frequency monitoring (FM-Intermediate)
• IV Start proficiency

Important Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Education verification required for all candidates
  • National sex offender and other federal/state checks as applicable
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 30 days of start; no PPD accepted
  • Immunizations or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season unless approved medical/religious exemption
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Additional:

  • Photo for badge (passport-style, shoulders up, no selfies) required within 24 hours of signing
  • Completion of facility-specific HealthStream training modules prior to start
  • Skills checklist and references required
  • NURSYS verification for RN license
  • OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training attestation or testing

Notes

• Minimal to no return to office (RTO) days expected; must be included on submission
• Fingerprinting requirements apply for CNAs only; RN candidates should confirm state-specific requirements
• Facility-specific forms and agreements may be required and are time sensitive
• Two recent supervisor/manager references required, verified within 12 months
• Performance evaluations may be required if previously worked with the facility system
