Job Description

• Position requires either Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentials.
• 1st time travelers are accepted.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty required.
• EPIC electronic health record experience is required.
• Work schedule: 36 hours per week, including every other weekend and holidays.
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience preferred.

Required Certifications and Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and/or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Louisiana State Respiratory License
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required; travelers may start with NRP pending.

Preferred Certifications:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

• Must comply with background checks including social security trace, nationwide checks, sex offender registry, and others as required.
• Required health documentation includes:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start.
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, Hepatitis B.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption.
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start.
• Competency exams and annual updates required (e.g., medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG).
• Must adhere to employee appearance policy and other facility-specific policies.

Summary

This travel contract role is ideal for Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapists with at least 2 years of experience, EPIC system knowledge, and required certifications. NICU experience is a plus. The position offers a consistent schedule with every other weekend and holiday shifts.
