Registered Nurse - Orthopedics
Location: Burlington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
- No on-call duties
- Float as needed
- Charge RN responsibilities required when needed
- Unit size: 29 beds
- Patient population: Adults through geriatrics, orthopedic patients, medical-surgical patients
- Telemetry monitoring available
- Physical therapy gym on unit for patient rehab
- High volume: total joint replacements, fracture repairs, kyphoplasties
- Moderate volume: other surgical procedures, inpatient and 24-hour observation medical patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Orthopedic Surgery, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience in Charge RN roles
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
- Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exam (must pass with minimum 82%)
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Other certifications may be preferred or required depending on unit (e.g., TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification)
Additional Information
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Candidate must complete all compliance requirements by deadlines prior to start date
- Floating policy applies to all agency staff
- Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
- Candidates must complete health history form and upload prior to clearance
- EPIC test required for RNs and some allied health professionals (2 attempts allowed, additional attempts may be approved onsite)
This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-volume orthopedic and medical-surgical unit with a diverse patient population and requires a strong clinical background, prior travel experience, and flexibility in scheduling.
