Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Summary

Work on a Medical Surgical Unit with remote telemetry and potential medical surgical diagnoses.
Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics.
Unit census: 38 beds, average daily census of 33.
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6.
Electronic health record system: Epic.
Other systems: Pyxis, SBAR.
Scrub color: Navy Blue.
Return to Orientation (RTO) required within 7 days.
Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed.
Weekend shifts every other weekend.
Call requirements: None.
Holiday work expectations: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if 2, work both; if 3, work 2 of the holidays.
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Additional Information

Floating within the facility as needed.
Orientation scheduling is bi-weekly; full compliance with onboarding required to start on time.
Locals accepted at the same rate.
No call requirements.
Weekend and holiday work expectations as noted above.
Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies on code of conduct and professional appearance prior to start.
