Registered Nurse - PCU

Location: Johnson City, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 36/36 (36 hours on, 36 hours off)
• Every Other Week (EOW) schedule
• No call required
• Floating required (do not sub unless preclosed on floating to MS)
• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Additional shifts beyond work commitment may be offered as overtime and flexed as needed
• Expected to actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care

Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• National Tech Certification Verification
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• State License 1 Verification
• NURSYS Verification

Orientation

• General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation required

Additional Notes

• Photo for badge must be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing (neutral background, no filters, no visible facial piercings/tattoos)
• Must review and comply with dress code, uniform guidelines, contaminated sharps and body fluid exposure statement, smoking and tobacco use policy, influenza policy, and respirator use guidelines
• References: 2 preferred, 3 ideal
• Skills checklist required

This position involves floating duties and requires flexibility in assignments. It supports nursing education and student mentorship as part of the role.
