Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Silver City, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide respiratory and pulmonary treatments and testing.
• Administer oxygen and nebulizer treatments.
• Perform stress testing and schedule outpatient tests.
• Must be multi-skilled and confident in Critical Access Hospital (CAH) patient care including neonatal resuscitation, PALS, ACLS, and trauma care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Mexico (RRT).
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Experience working with neonate patients, including neonatal resuscitation.
• Trauma patient delivery experience.
• Certifications issued by the American Heart Association:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, fingerprinting (NM state requirement), and federal exclusions (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG).
• Health documents including:

  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Fit testing for N95 masks or equivalent respirators
  • Immunizations/vaccinations or titers for Tdap, TB, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Drug testing (10-panel including THC) within last 12 months; additional drug/alcohol screening at orientation
  • Seasonal flu vaccination strongly encouraged; declination accepted with mask requirement
• Proof of 2 clinical references.
• Completion of required competencies and facility-specific documents including safety manuals, confidentiality agreements, and code of conduct acknowledgments.
• Photo for badge (passport-style, no filters or accessories).

Additional Information

• Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service.
• Candidates must have a valid Social Security number before start.
• Orientation and new hire processing will be completed onsite.
• Candidates must review and sign various facility policies and acknowledgments prior to start.
