Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Aldie, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Case Manager with Hospice experience
• Patient Load: 5-7 patients per day (geriatric, end-of-life care)
• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Territory: Up to 60-mile radius from the office in Loudoun County, VA
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; jeans are not allowed
• Device Provided: iPad (cell phone use not allowed)
• Mileage Reimbursed at IRS standard rate
• Timely documentation and communication required
• Flexibility with territory expected

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Minimum 1 year of hospice experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification required
• Ability to complete skills assessments prior to start

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Virginia State Police background check and sex offender search required
• E-Verify and related federal screenings required within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start, confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
• Fit test for N95 mask within 1 year of start (can be completed onsite)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Required immunizations or positive titers with boosters as applicable: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Annual skills checklist and medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required annually (flu season Oct 1 - Apr 1)
• COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination required

Facility-Specific Documentation (to be completed prior to start)

• Photo for badge (passport-style, front-facing, plain background)
• Contractor information, consent, conflict of interest, immunization statement, confidentiality and security agreement, TB symptom survey, sexual abuse policy, code of conduct
• Sworn statement required for Virginia placements
• Flu and COVID vaccine declination forms if applicable

Additional Notes

• Local candidates are accepted at travel rates
• No on-call required
• Must have government-issued photo ID and valid driver’s license/state ID
• Must complete internal accounting and compliance documents such as I9 and E-Verify
