Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (4x10 days)
- Business hours: 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday - Friday (rotating day off)
- Call requirement: Three primary weekdays and three backup weekdays as per contract
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
- Certifications required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Tech license (per specialty)
- Must meet all background check requirements including a 7-year criminal background check and fingerprinting (BCI & FBI) within 90 days of start
- Education from accredited programs as applicable
- Completion of required competency exams and certifications prior to or within specified timeframes
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide search, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if applicable
- Monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems
- Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
- Fingerprinting must be completed using specific state codes and within 1 year of start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed at start)
- Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations or titers required:
- Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Competency & Certification Exams
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for all RNs (not applicable if fully remote or excluded units)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required prior to start for nursing staff
References & Documentation
- Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership role
- Employment application required for all candidates
